A Few Comments
The Funding Dashboard is another view into Otto Schoitz Foundation's funding history. The Dashboard compiles all grant awards to provide a higher level of context. Awards at the individual organization level can be explored in our Grant eMap found here. Highlights from our Dashboard follow.
Total Funds Awarded
Our invitation rate is high - we seek to increasingly learn about our community and the good work within.
Type of Award
We're open to funding Capacity Building requests; however, our preference is to encourage membership in organizations such as Cedar Valley Nonprofit Association for most organizational development purposes. If membership fees are a barrier, please reach out.
Social Determinants of Health
Proportionate funding across the Social Determinants of Health helps monitor our intended comprehensive approach towards improving the health and wellbeing in our community.
Community Served
While our funding area encompasses the 30-mile radius of Waterloo Iowa, because of the greater need, we prioritize grants impacting Waterloo.
Individuals Served
As a comparison, the age cohorts in Black Hawk County, a large part of our funding radius, are:
22% - under 18,
62% - 18 to 64, and
16% - 65 and over.
Grant Size
The predominance of the number of grants awarded have been to requests below $25,000 while the majority of dollars awarded have been to projects $250,000 and above.
