Otto Schoitz Foundation’s CEO Shelli Panicucci has announced her retirement for Fall 2024.

“Serving as the first CEO of Otto Schoitz Foundation has been my great privilege. I’d like to thank my Board of Directors for the opportunity. Their steady support emboldened me to take chances and go in new directions,” said Panicucci.

“The Foundation’s purpose has been an inspirational light - to improve the health and wellbeing of the Cedar Valley. Yet without our partners, it’s just a phrase. The efforts of so many have brought it to life. I’m grateful to have been a part of the work and I will continue to cheer on our beloved community with unbridled enthusiasm.”

“Shelli has been the cornerstone of our organization since its inception,” added Blake Hollis, Chairperson of the Board. “Her visionary leadership and relentless dedication have not only shaped the Foundation's path but also solidified our credibility as a collaborative partner, which has led to catalytic and positive impact within the community. The Foundation and the Cedar Valley are better because of Shelli’s resolute commitment.”

With this announcement, Otto Schoitz Foundation is also announcing their incoming CEO/Executive Director, Cathy Showalter. Cathy has worked with the Foundation since 2021. Cathy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Iowa State University and brings to the position experience from both the nonprofit and business sectors.

“Cathy was the clear choice to lead the Foundation into the future,” said Hollis. “Her strategic mindset, connector approach, broad sense of community and statewide engagement gives us great confidence in her leadership. We are in good hands.”

“I am honored to become the next CEO for the Otto Schoitz Foundation,” stated Showalter. “I extend my gratitude and best wishes to Shelli, who has been my trusted mentor. Working with our excellent partners in this much-loved community is deeply meaningful to me and I look forward to shaping what comes next.”

Panicucci will step down in September, when Showalter takes the reins.
